- Having spent most of my working life at sea, as a sailor in the merchant marine,I have recently come ashore for a second go as a land lubber.The first time I was retrenched due to the GFC and I went back to sea on the Bass Strait ferries .Three years later,here I am. My job as a cargo super involves a company car and a small amount of driving around, which I try to keep to a minimum. This blog is my view of the world from the saddle and also a diary of my passion for old, steel framed French treadlies.

Biking while using a cell phone sounds pretty crazy, but I suppose it's better than while driving an automobile...
On the other hand, I know a woman who broke her foot while walking with her dog!
Nice photos, of Tokyo multi-taskers! Definitely not the number one safest to do both at the same time! But as anniebikes says, safer than driving a car and cell-ing.
Broke her foot walking a dog? I guess dogs can be pretty unpredictable sometimes...as can walking!
I have pretty mixed feelings about talking on the phone whilst cycling.I'm as guilty as the next. That dog/ beast/ cyclist combo,though, is an accident waiting to happen.
